Multiple websites

How can I have multiple websites? What’s the best way to manage multiple websites?

Chapter 1: Having multiple blogs published under different web addresses on the same hosting

I think the best way to have multiple websites is to have them completely separated from each other. Have a hosting which allows you to add multiple domains on the same account and have a domain for each website (example I have a hosting account and various domains on it: wpfaq.org; phpbbfaq.org; musicwiki.info; ...). Under each domain install WordPress.

Chapter 2: Having multiple WordPress blogs under the same domain

If you don’t want to have a domain for each of your websites you can publish them all under the same domain. In this case the best thing to do would be to have a folder for each website like:
yourdomain.com/sports/
yourdomain.com/culture/
yourdomain.com/news/
and so on...

To achieve that download WordPress and you will get a folder called “wordpress”. As an example rename this folder “sports” and upload the whole folder (not only the content of it). Once you uploaded it rename the folder “culture” and reupload it, ...

For the installation follow the installation guide. You need to go through the process for each blog. When it comes to the table prefix note that you have to use a different prefix for each blog. You can’t use the same. I would use “sportswp_”, “culturewp_”, ...

Once you went through the installation process link the blogs to each other in the sidebar or make an instant-redirect from a page displaying in the top menu.
